Mission:

The primary objective of the Publicity Chair is to create all club documents, flyers, posters, and articles related to publicity, including the monthly article for the Reporter Herald and/or other local publications. The Publicity Chair holds a voting position on the Loveland Photographic Society (LPS) Board of Directors, and should make every effort to attend all board meetings (six scheduled per year: first Tuesday of odd months) to help direct the club in the decision making process.

Basic Duties:

  1. Attending club functions to obtain information related to club activities, and incorporate this information into articles, club documents, flyers, posters and news items.
  2. Pass on pertinent information to the Webmaster and the newsletter chair.
  3. Communicate with other club chairs and board members to keep tabs on all club functions.
  4. Write a monthly article for the Reporter Herald and the LPS newsletter.

Time Commitment:

There is no set time commitment. The chair has the option of attending all functions or contacting other members, chairs, or the Board of Directors to obtain the information needed to perform the duties of the chair.

Benefits:

The LPS monthly meeting attracts not only its members, but also the interest of the community. Monthly articles related to competition, speakers, and special club functions helps keep the club in the spotlight. Personal benefits include getting to meet professionals and educators in the photographic field, interacting with club members to learn their needs and desires, and furthering personal interests in the field of photography.
