Mission:

The primary objective of the Field Trip Chair is to search out suitable sites and subjects for field trips, to give participating club members a chance to photograph a variety of subjects such as: landscape, nature, architecture, etc. The Field Trip Chair does hold a voting position on the Loveland Photographic Society (LPS) Board of Directors, and should make every effort to attend all board meetings (six scheduled per year: first Tuesday of odd months) to help direct the club in the decision making process.

Basic Duties:

1. To poll membership to see where there is interest for potential field trips.
2. To create a list of field trips to be posted on club calendars. (LPS website, Yahoo Group, and Newsletter)
3. To obtain permission to photograph at a given venue or location where permission might be required.
4. To give directions that include: time, place, maps, and any cost that might be incurred.
5. Coordinate with the mentor chair to combine outings with mentors.

Time Commitment:

There is no set time commitment. The chair has the option to obtain all commitments by email or phone. There is no set number of field trips. The number of field trips should be gauged by the needs of the club, and the willingness of the members to participate.

Benefits:

Field trips help educate and inspire. Through these outings, the club will help participating members improve their photographic skills. Personal benefits include getting to help other members obtain these goals while furthering personal interests in the field of photography.
